Cast of Characters – Who is CPAC?

Community Performing Arts Council of Cleveland (CPAC) is a partnership of various production companies and arts-minded organizations.  CPAC partners include property owner Jones Management Services, the Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce, Allied Arts Council, Bang-A-Rang Productions/Cleveland City Ballet, Ocoee Players, Harrison Development Associates, Lee University and Cleveland State Community College.  CPAC is currently seeking legal organization and non-profit status.

The mission of CPAC is to further the provision and promotion of the performing arts in our community.  Quality performing arts enhances the cultural aspect of a community as well as the quality of life we enjoy as we live, work and raise families in Cleveland and Bradley County, Tennessee.

Four subcommittees have been formed to address the various organizational issues.  They include Business Plan, Funding, Standards and Policies and Marketing/Promotion.

CPAC’s first goal is the development of a community theatre where performing artists are welcome and eligible to take the stage.  Out of this vision, the Village Green Playhouse was born.  The building is known to longtime residents as the Village Movie Theatre.  Jones Management Services owns the property and is willing to work with CPAC to make a community theatre possible and affordable with the help of generous community support.

The Village Green Playhouse is the first project for CPAC.  It is one step in the furtherance of the performing arts and quality entertainment for our citizens.
